Refinish.

I recently decided to have my trusty Les Paul refinished from the Tobacco Sunburst to a Gold Top. I never really got on with the original finish. But, I always hankered for a gold top which is my favorite Gibson finish.So after some serious deliberation I took the guitar to WYRE RIVER GUITARS in Blackpool. Steve Preston is a well respected guitar tec/ builder. Steve did a superb job. I did not want an exact replica of the a new Gibson Gold Top, rather something with a vintage patina or slightly aged look. Steve included a very slight hint of green in the finish to mimic the faded effect of natural age. The vintage Gold Tops can appear almost brown. I think he did a wonderful job. Look at the photo's and decide for.

1959 SPEC WIRING MOD with BUMBLE CAPACITERS.

I also had the wiring changed to the same spec that was available on the 1959 Les Pauls. Plus I replaced the capacitors with Vintage reissue 'Bumble Bee Capacitors'. They are called Bumble Bee's because of the stripes.
