NORTH WEST BLUES CLUBS

The North West and the North of England in general still has a healthy Blues scene and interest in Blues music. It's not a bed of roses though. Blues only has a concessionary spot on the local BBC Radio programs. it's nonexistent on other commercial Radio stations. We still have to compete against the Karaoke brigade and tribute bands, BUT, it's a free world and there's room for every one? Some of the best Blues Festivals are up North and some fine blues clubs and pubs which host Blues music events. The south of England is equally represented but I'll list the Northern scene first, simply because thats my geographical location. SO! no rants about the mythical North / South divide please? BJs Blues Club. is hosted and organized by Lucas Campbell. It's a superb enthusiast run Blues Club and puts on the Blues every Thursday evenings and some Saturday evenings. The Club is based at the Hop Pocket, Chorley, Carr Lane,, PR7 3JQ. Wendy and Russell who manage the pub guarantee quality entertainment and traditional pub grub. Welcome Inn.  Blues gigs are held weekly on each and every Wednesday evenings. It's another superb and well established blues night which was set up and organized by Blues enthusiast and Promoter, Jeff Winters. The blues nights are based at The Welcome Inn, Whitefield. Greater Manchester, M45 6TA. The venue is well attended by Blues enthusiasts who can also have the pleasure of sampling the Holts draft and bottled beers. Which, go down the throat nice and easy and are very good value for money. The Landlord/ Landlady are Dave and Yvonne. All are welcome and  you will have enough change left over for a Kebab on the way home!! Sorted!! J B     JAZZ and BLUES CLUB. ANOTHER GREAT VENUE FLAYING THE FLAG FOR QUALITY Blues / Jazz and related roots music. Set in the the premises of the Tara Sports and Leisure complex in Shaw, Oldam ( Manchester North, North West England ). This venue has all the hallmarks to be quintessential classic music club. Well organized, good PA, the right ambiance and a down to earth local and visiting crowd that are unpretentious and not afraid to let there hair down. Music clubs do not have to be stuffy affairs and this club offers a wide variety of bands and music to keep the paying crowd happy. Well recommended.

 SALFORD MUSIC TV        Founded in 2005 by Paul to collect and archive information about bands and musicians as far back as the to the present date. Now expanded to include an TV station which features and promotes Salford bands, artists, singers, venues and all things music in Salford.
